mooboo
I'm really digging the idea of putting a P94 into my Les Paul. I was thinking of putting a rhythm pickup in and keeping my humbucker for leads.. Does anyone have any suggestioins? Sound clips? I tried to find the same pickup combo on youtube but didn't come up with anything worth while. Thanks! thejay
Similar to a BFG setup, its a great combo as far as I am concerned. I had replaced the BB Pros in a LP VM a year or so ago with P94s and really enjoyed the guitar. I gigged heavily at the time and more often than not I did not use the guitar as much probably because I did replace the bridge with a P94; I favored my BFG instead. Great pickups if you like P90s! bucketbot
Also take a look at BKP Mississippi Queens....Great Pickups!! http://www.bareknucklepickups.co.uk/ZP-MQ.html Alternatively a P90H neck pickup, and BurstBucker 3 bridge pickup as in the new LP 2010 Limited? http://www2.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/Les-Paul/Gibson-USA/Les-Paul-Standard-2010-Limited/Features.aspx
jnastynebr
I would think about a P-90 first. I had a Fender Telecaster with P-94s, and found it shrill and hard to find good tones.
G McBride
I just got a 2009 Nighthawk. It has a P90 neck and a BB3 Bridge pick up. I really am liking this set up. I have a Studio with the stock pups, and a LP DC special with 2 P90's. It is nice to have one of each in a guitar.
