UTPA guy Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 Hello again SG Enthusiasts, Just wanted to let you know a couple of things -- first, the thread about the academic research focused around the SG was moved to the Gibson Lounge. More importantly, the survey for the academic research is now available. If you go to the Gibson Lounge you'll see the thread, and a post with a link to the survey, which is housed on a secure website. (Admin: Can you please leave this thread here so the SG enthusiasts know the survey is now ready? Thanks, I would appreciate it) Thanks all! - Paul
UTPA guy Posted May 22, 2010 Author Posted May 22, 2010 Hello again everyone, First - thanks to everyone who's taken the survey. Research is going well. Also I wanted to make sure to post what the research is about. Please keep in mind, this is academic research, not market research. It is not at all on behalf of Gibson Musical Instruments. Academic research measures and tests theories. In certain cases such research is enhanced when real-world products are used as context. The results of these theories eventually make their way to firms, etc. What is being explored in my research has to do with product innovation. I decided to use Gibson SG because it is a product for which musicians have a particular passion. This increases the validity of the overall research project. The survey is very short. You simply have to read a fictional scenario, then answer six questions about the scenario. Participation by anyone familiar with the Gibson SG is very much appreciated. The survey is housed on a secure website, and all information is completely confidential and anonymous. Any questions can be sent to me either by private message, or by e-mail to me at pgbarretta@broncs.utpa.edu Here is a link to the survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/GibsonSG Thank you all, - Paul
