Vette77 Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 ive been looking into getting an attenuator since i have a rather large amp. ive got a jcm2000 DLS 100 too a jcm900 lead 1960 that has 300 watt capacity. this amp is primarily for home use and i was hoping someone could suggest a good attenuator so im not sacrificing tone for volume?
Laaz Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 THD Hot Plate. 16 Ohm for the DSL & 1960 cab THD hot plate
deepblue Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 I have a Hotplate, and it says in the manual that they dont suggest using one on anything higher then 200w.

Laaz Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 Weber's are nice because you can select the ohm, where the THD is set at one ohm level. I had a Weber a few years ago and the thing sh!t the bed multiple times & was in the shop more than it was with me. I may have had a dud, but I haven't had a single problem with the THD.

chewy60 Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 here's another vote for getting a smaller amp. a half-stack is no bueno for home use....
Riffster Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 A friend bought the Bad Cat "The Leash" to use with his Bad Cat amp and the thing works like a charm, his amp is a 40 watter though. The Leash is pricey but well made, it has 4/8/16 selectable ohms. See the link below. http://elderly.com/accessories/items/LEASH.htm
retrosurfer1959 Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 a 300 watt amp for home use maybe you could build a special clset for it or even bury it in the back yard you's probably still be able to hear it just fine. :P
Silenced Fred Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 Still sayin' if its home use, get a smaller amp. tons of great ones available now-a-days.
