Twelvebar Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 I wish i coulda seen hank sr. I've seen Jr and III, both great, though wildly different.
Shnate McDuanus Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 You know, to me it's always been Hank Sr. I just seemed to "not get it" with him the same way I did from his father. I'm talking about a lot of things when I say "it." I mean his understanding of human condition, and a lot of other stuff too. Hank Jr.'s a great musician and he's always put out some fantastic tunes but he never really reached me in the same way. Hank III seems to get me too--as far as attitude goes, he's always seemed to have a lot more in common with his grandfather than with his father. In all, three incredible musicians and creators.
Californiaman Posted May 10, 2010 Author Posted May 10, 2010 It's my opinion that far too many people don't appreciate the contribution these three men have made to American music. Not enough people get it. But that's the state of things in America these days. I agree they are all incredible musicians and creators as well as wordsmiths.
