garett89
Any idea of its value as is Its a customers and he just wants it playable to give to his grandson but i dont want to do anything to it if it shoudnt be done. The frets have been filed down to litleraly nothing and the first one is missing so that needs to be done but he wants the bridge replaced and the machine heads replaced. Is there anything i should advise him against or is it something i should see if hes interested in selling as is and he can get his grandson a new seagull or soemhting i dont mind paying him what its worth. Its the first one ive come across i never really studied up on gibson a whole lot so Im wondering what the good people of this fourm think. ksdaddy
If I were looking for an LG0 I would pay $100-$150 for it as is, but only because I do my own refrets. I would avoid replacing the tuners and bridge if at all possible. If he had it refretted at a cost of $200-300 he might be able to get $400 or a little more out of it. Sometimes they go higher on ebay but I think people are bidding stupid. An LG0 is a $300-$400 guitar in my eyes, if it's in clean shape and needs no work. garett89
I can do the refret the bridge is fine structurally needs a new saddle and one of the knobs on the machine heads is broken off but i belive i have something floating around somewheres to match it. The back also has two pretty nasty checks in the wood, I just dont want this guy giving it to a grandson or soemthing that will thorugh it in a closet or trade it for a playstation( i know its none of my business its his guitar to do with what he pleases) but its a peice of history regardless of its value. Thanks for your help so far
