Hey everyone. I just wanted to share a picture of a Guitar I just picked up. a 1990 Dove. This is the best sounding and playing acoustic guitar I have ever played.

It has a crack in the top that needs to be repaired and the bridge looks like its just starting to lift, But besides that its in excellent condition for the age.

anyways, here's the pic:

Didn't I see this guitar on Ebay?

It's BEAUTIFUL.... you're gonna LOVE it. I personally feel the Dove is one of the most underrated guitars around.

Looking at this beauty...

Man, this is not a guitar, this is a treasure!!!

I have ever wanted to possess an ebony Gibson Dove since I saw that my favorite acoustic guitar solo in "Forever" of KISS has been played on this model.

And yes - I believe you that this is a "best sounding" guitar.

Congratulations!!!!

Welcome. That's a very nice guitar!

Make sure you find a great luthier to do those repairs. If you're having trouble finding the right person it's highly likely that someone here can point you in the right direction.

Thanks everyone! thats a nice tobacco burst dove you have there, Danvillrob. what year is it?

and no, this isn't the one from Ebay. that one was a '76. I scored this one on craigslist for over $1000 LESS then the one on ebay went for. [lol]

Well, CONGRATZ!! I LOVE the ebony Doves.... My Dove is '79, I've owned it since 1980.

It's aged beautifully, and it sounds better than the Doves In Flight, but the DIF is only 7 years old!

So.... did ya like it?

Yes and no....that was a period I was getting pretty involved with electric guitars...and had an acoustic because I thought I should have one. And in this period I was trying lots of different guitars to learn what I liked and what I didn't. I think what I liked best was that it was red and pretty flashy!

I wish I could try it again now that I am properly oriented to acoustic guitars....

More eye candy... I love the look of the Dove especially the bling it has under spots on a stage. The Hummingbird and J-45 have that awesome warm glow whereas the Dove sparkles. It's cool how the look is so fitting to the tone. It's what makes Gibson's so classic... I love it!
