guitarworld
Hi there forum, Is it possible to swap out the neutrik locking jack socket on my Les Paul Standard 2008, for a normally used jack socket. If yes, is it advisable to do this, as regards the keeping the guitar fitted as "stock". Any advice would be appreciated.:- Guitarworld.
Blackie
Yes it can be done easily with the right parts. It will not be stock after it is modified.
guitarworld
Thanks for the reply Blackie, O.K I understand it will not be "stock" but does this really matter, are these jacks really respectful to the Les Paul or is it to do with future resale value, etc. Also would it involve any further drilling? Thanks again for the advice.

If your planning on to sell for max potential, keeping it top condition and stock is desirable. If you're a player with no particular resale plans looking for convenience, mod it. You'll need an jack plate for a standard output jack and then drill the mounting holes for the jack plate. http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Hardware,_parts/Electric_guitar:_Covers_plates/Les_Paul_Style_Jack_Plate.html?actn=100101&xst=3&xsr=1111
guitarworld
I'm playing it in my studio only, and I plan to keep it in superb condition, not just for resale value, but also because it is such a fantastic instrument. I have only had it a fortnight and I love and respect it so much. I'll leave it "as is" I think, thanks for the advice Bigkahune. this forum rocks!!!!!!
