cowgard
I took my monthly trip to Vegas this week. I live about 2 hours away and like to get there every month or so to hear some live music and shop. I took an ESP guitar I bought but don't play to Guitar Center for a trade in case I found something I couldn't live without. Needless to say, there is always something I can't live without. This time it was a new Gibson SG Special. It is cherry finish( nitro finish, not the faded). Been playing it all day. Very nice. After the trade in/trade up discount and what they paid me for the ESP I got out the door for just a tad over 700 bucks including tax and hardshell case. Anyway, I have another guitar I don't need but it makes me happy just the same. David

Yew
Take it off that stand, it can damage the finish!
BigKahune
I've got black foam stands that are fine with nitro. But as Yew points out, check and make sure yours is okay for use with nitro finishes, because some types (especially the type that uses yellow/orange tubing) reacts with the nitro and softens it, creating a mess and some nasty damage. cowgard
Yikes. Thanks for the heads up about the stands. I had no idea. I now covered all the parts of the stand that touch guitar with socks so nothing touches my new baby except clean white cotton cloth. Dub-T-123
Yeah stands can really mess up your finish. I learned the hard way. The damage on my SG is minor but it's there and it's easily avoidable.
