Why is the white binding creme colored?

I have 2004 Limited Edition in Manhattan Midnight. I bought this used and the binding is more creme that white as it is supposed to be. IS this normal discoloration for white binding?

The binding is supposed to be that color to make it look aged. I prefer the cream colored binding I think the white looks cheap-just my opinion.

This is standard. The color of the binding is also affected by the finish sprayed over it.
