My favorite is:

~Guitar at normal used value but neck repair broken headstock or heel~

"This guitar played great before, after the neck repair it plays even better!"

There seems to be a lot of these.

Salesman, selling an old, battered OVERPRICED guitar in poor condition: "Check that mojo! Vintage vibe!"

The sad thing is that the snake oil salesman's trick has worked - people buy into the phony concept of 'mojo' and the vintage guitar market is skewed for it.

The most offensive ads (in my opinion) are the ones where the poster is asking for an instrument for free. The reasoning doesn't matter to me.

I've donated thousands of dollars in both instruments and money to local school music programs throughout the years - I'm not opposed to helping out. But an individual asking for a specific item for free seems pretty low-life to me.

my two favorites are

For today only we are going to throw in all these extra's just look at this the case alone is worth 200 bucks and ...

Or yeah I know it's not a name brand Gibson it's a Epiphone it's the same company but everything has been replaced and upgrades so it's just as good as a Gibson or better so that's why it's this much I did the work myself and today only I'll throw in the case.

Whilst looking for a semi on ebay the other week, I kept finding those broken neck ads... Sheesh - and at high end price points. Nope. No way.

I s'pose some papas might buy one for their kid, and that's what makes me sad.

I haven't come across to many guitar ones that haven't been listed, but on Kijiji one day I was looking at pickup trucks.

"1958 Ford Pickup,350,000kms, runs good, no brakes, use it for getting around the farm. No windshield, shocks are shot, rusted out in most places, $14,580" [confused]

These kind of ads annoy me for some reason:

Red Base Guitar, Barely Played! $125 -Dude learn to spell!

Or

Gibson SG by Epiphone $400 -It's either Gibson, or Epiphone. It can't be both!

Another favorite of mine is:

"I have played guitar for 30 years and have gone through many Les Paul and this one is the best by far, the best of all I have " I hate to sell it.

But he is selling it!! the best guitar ever.

Wouldn't you sell the guitars you don't like first?

Ha ha ha.........that guy gave up pretty quick........only 7 posts...........I will do anything.......... blah blah blah

Hey if that ever happens again we should at least lead the guy on ....and make him perform a series of tests.....or tasks......and such.........make him hitch hike across the country on a scavenger hunt.
