string gauge recomendations guys?

i'm gonna tune my strat down to drop C and i normally use 9-46 but as you know they will flap about a bit with that gauge, so what gauge would you use? (if you tune to c), i don't wanna tune down the les pauls and my ibanez would have to be set up due to the floyd rose so the strat it is , i'ts just for when my brother comes round for a jam as he likes and plays all that drop tuned heavy stuff...as do i

I use 10-52 for that tuning. 11 is a bit much for me.

I used 11s for C# back in the day. Might work for C as well, or go with 12-52.

I like 10-52 for tuning to C or D.

Gives me a tight low end for fast rhythm picking but a slinky top end for super bends and vibrato.

I'd go with the .10 - .52 also.

 

I use them on my Goltop for the heavier stuff.

Even when I used to tune to A400, I always used the .009 set..... Only time I use a .010 set on a guitar, is when it wont intonate with .009's.......... I only have one guitar that has this condition and that's my 84 Kramer.

11s for everything except the acoustic. She gets 12s. And I play in standard A 440 tuning. Not sure how you cats get away with anything lighter.

I use 11s, standard tuning usually (sometimes I'll go half ste down just for the hell of it). I'm seriously considering moving to 13s....

fitted the d'darrio 10-52's today...sounds great! strung em up to my lp standard and tuned down to C.. no buzz, no fret out, no need to adjust anything!
