Yupper.... in Kangnung (I think they spell it Gangnung nowadays). The local soju was awfully easy going down, too.

 

I, of course, didn't partake of the soju. Much. OTOH, didn't have much trouble getting to sleep in the motel room that night, either.

I thought us Greeks had cornered the market on wicked liquors with ouzo until I had soju. Guess that explains the random men in business suits passed out on the streets of Seoul.

Sake comes filtered, non-filtered, extra dry, full flavored, hot or cold. Most people think of it as rice wine but it's actually closer to beer. There are many levels of flavor that are greatly affected by temperature.
