Which one?

Ok, I got to choose between the 50th annyversary Les Paul Custom Black Beauty (1960) or the 1960 Les Paul Standard VOS Reissue.

 

Main difference, maple top on the standard and the marvelous burst on it.

 

Other than that, what would be different regarding sound, neck, sustain, versatility? Or is there anything else?

Ebony fretboard. Every Custom won't sustain longer than every Standard. It's best if you can play the guitars before you buy them and see which one you like more. If you can't do that, then you're just buying it based on looks. Buy the one think looks better.

My intention is not just go for the looks, but rather know what I'm buying and why I'm buying.

 

Would sustain be the only difference?

 

Is there anyone on the forum that owns a 1960 standard ri or a custom to tell me about them?
