Ordered My First Gibson Guitar--an ES-359

I've been on the fence about this for a long time, but I've finally taken the plunge.

 

I already have an Epiphone Sheraton II (that I've modded) and an Epiphone Les Paul that I like. But a part of me really wants an American made, 24-3/4" set neck guitar. I've had a blast playing a friend's ES-339, and I've been lurking and reading various articles in the Gibson forums. As a result, I've sold two other guitars that weren't getting the love they deserved, and I've ordered an ES-359.

 

I plan to play it primarily through my Fender Hot Rod Deluxe. But I have the option to run it through a Roland JC-120. One of the hardest parts will be leaving it a couple of days with my favorite guitar tech for its final set up.

 

Any suggests for a future Gibson guitar "dad" are appreciated.

YOu'll love it! Have a look to see if the high 'e' flicks off the fingerboard. Mine did, THe Luthier at the guitar shop where I bought it fixed it for free. Two frets were a bit rough on the edge..... I wonder if this is common on them?

 

Other than that, It's a totally amazing guitar! LOVE IT!

I've just been watching a vid on You Tube with a 356. His name is Pete Downes. All he uses is a Roland 20x combo and gets a great sound.

Yea gotta say that would be my ultimate guitar. I have a 335 figured cherry and love it, but the bling

on your guitar can't be beat.
