Nagash Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 Besides all my ESP guitars for heavy music, I'm looking for a guitar that can play any style, give any sound. After reading lots of reviews, I came to be stuck between the two mentioned in the title : LP Supreme and LP Custom. Both seem to suit for every music style and seem to have excellent sound. Now I'm asking people who have played on BOTH guitars, which one they think is the best. And please don't suggest other models, let's keep with these two.
kevoT Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 get an sg! <------------------ not biased or anything *wink wink*

I have 1 LP Custom, 1 LP Supreme & 1 LP Standard. I tried those 3 with my metal band recently. ---Out of the 3, the LP Supreme has a crispier & brighter sound. ---Out of the 3, the LP Custom sounds just a little too «round». ---Out of the 3, the LP standard sounds VERY LARGE. SO: to my surprise, the LP Supreme wins in a metal band. For the versatility, I would hesitate between the LP Standard & the LP Supreme. In your situation (a Supreme OR a Custom), I suggest you go with the Supreme. If you can afford more than one LP, get them both **By the way, since I own my Gibsons I NEVER use my old «metal» guitars (B.C. Rich, Washburn, Jackson).** You won't be disappointed with an LP Supreme. This is THE guitar to own IMO. Thanks! I hope it helps.
dem00n Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 You should send your old metal guitars to me. No but really go for the Supreme, i belive its better. I dont know about everyone else.
jamman Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 The Supreme is a really nice guitar , but a little showy for me. Also, if you need to work on the inside of it .... it's difficult. Also it's chambered and imo i don't like the chambered Gibson guitars. But that's a personal thing. if you like it cool. The Custom is much easier to change the pups if you want. The Custom has better access to the pots,caps.wiring. You need to try both and decide which one does your type of music better. or as almost everyone else has said. buy both. than you don't have a problem.
