I have other Les Paul standards, 77 gold top being the oldest and the one that is solid body. My next Les Paul will be a black beauty custom. I'm waiting this weekend for some great deals for the Memorial Day weekend. There is something about an ebony with gold hardware Les Paul that is so appealing. One question, what model is your Desert Burst '08, did you say it was a Standard '08? I noticed you have a normal Jack and kluson tuners on this guitar I also have an '08 standard but I don't have these. Thanks for posting the photo's, they're cool!!!! Mine is a very early 2008 production before the upgrades. They changed the standards in mid 08. When Gibson made the changes, the early 2008 standards went on clearance with a BIG price drop at musician's friend. I paid $1500 with HSC shipped. The number 0 before the 2 isn't showing in this pic and I airbrushed the last two digits of the serial number for obvious reasons. Perhaps, Gibson rep can drop in and shine some light on early 2008 les pauls standards before the upgrades, new tuners, jacks and plek setup.
