Humbucker covers

Im about to get some for my Flying V and Id like to know how exactly to get em on

You buy the covers, Solder it onto the pickup and then pot it, I usually use paraffin wax.

Everyone seems to have a different opinion, some say just to press it in tightly then put two beads of solder on the side, but potting is probably better afterwards.
