Anyone like 490r and 498t pups?

I have them in my sg std, but Im thinking about changing them. I play mostly blues and they seem a little to hot and not dynamic enough. I also find that they arent very good balanced, I have problem finding a setting without either the neck being too muddy or the bridge pu too harsh. I have a lp standard 06 (dont know what the pups are) but I like the way it sounds alot better.

More warmth. Very even across lows' date=' mids and highs. The plus gives you a bit more output in case want some overdrive.

+1....And i agree with the earlier post as well, i really disliked the 498t in my Alpine White studio, but the 490r was sweeet...id suggest a 490r + BB pro, or BB2, BB3, or the earlier stated 490/490, its a great pickup...

Same here. I love the 490r but I'm not too crazy about the 498t. I now have a BB3 in my SG and it sounds way better. Also the output is very well matched. With my setup, when I flip the switch there is no noticable volume difference whatsoever. Just tonal difference.

Well I have them on my studio and I like the bluessy sound of the 490r even you can play jazz with that Pickup. The 498t is good for rock and I like how it sounds. The only problem, almost in my guitar but I don't mind, is the midle position you can hardly ear the 498t pickup. So my selector goes from neck to bridge/ bridge to neck.

If i recall correctly, your 2006 LP Std. should have BB pro's as stock pups. hope that helps.
