Since I know some are too lazy to look into it, from the quick read I did, you are charged $50 to start an account and a fee based on how long you have the guitar. The Epiphone JLH Sheraton II I looked at is $50 per day or $125 per week.

it only says application fee, I imagine that is the fee for them to look at your application. The membership will probably be pretty high

I am guessing the membership price is to pay for the credit report. A credit score is what will get you the membership. You will then pay a very good price to play what ever instrument you desire to try. I would guess that there is a clause that if you break it you buy it at their price. Rent a guitar out for 85 bucks a day plus shipping both directions and you will pay for a nice guitar pretty quickly. I would still be less expensive than you going out and buying that guitar if you only want to play it for a short time.

Looks too pricey for a regular Joe type guy... If you are a professional musician, on the road or in the studio it might be worth it. In that case you can use it as a tax write off. If you are just a hobby guitarist it's way too expensive, sure $50 a day or $125 a week but what about insurance? Is that included in the rental, I doubt it. Would you rent a 5 or 6 thousand dollar guitar without insurance? Say you rent a killer R9, someone bumps into it and snaps the headstock off, oops.... Or just a simple ding on the killer flame top, if you are not insured for accidents who pays for that and how much?

Bad business idea unless you like working w/ banks and collection agencies. You know some idiot is gonna get one with no intention of returning the guitar. This idiot will most like give a credit card number with no spending limit. That way the company can charge the loss of the guitar. But oh nooo that idiot has no intention of paying for his credit card debt. Sell the debt to a collection agency.....

"But they run a credit check." Some idiot will use their kids' name or stodeln identity. Too much risk involved. Plus I'm not the type to waste $100 to have a nice guitar for a day. I have 15 to choose from at home.
