pippy
You have heard him many times but never heard his name; I'd certainly not heard his name before. What struck me most was how completely effortless he made it look. He's clearly mastered his instrument. Thanks for posting that, jaxson.
G McBride
I hope I will, but I am still learning and I am now 57. I have a few more years to practice.

Daryl M
That's fine! I love to listen to the older guys play. There is a a guitarist I see at the Opry a lot, Leon Rhodes. Leon is 78, I think, and it still as fast and clean as guys a third of his age. Gotta love seeing these elder statemen of the guitar still doing it. grampa
I'm nowhere near as good as him but I am getting close to 70 and my playing is as good as it ever was so I can relate.
milod
Grampa, what'cha talkin' about - you're still just a kid about my little sister's age. <chortle> Hey, seriously, when I quit learning, I pray I will be buried. And "Hell" would be knowing you've learned something, but forgot it the next day and had to keep trying to relearn... kinda like that movie "Groundhog day" but with no way out. Heaven would be an unlimited supply of good guitars and amps and time to figure out new stuff. As to "as good as it ever was," I dunno. I think I played faster mechanically when I was younger; I think ... differently now with more variation. m
