sheltsound
My 1966 J 160E had its adjustable bridge replaced many years ago...I imagine the original bridge had some method of grounding the strings.. the replacement bridge obviously does not..was there some metal underneath the original bridge that made contact with the metal ball ends of the strings?..I've recently started to use the guitar plugged in and the hum situation caused me to jury rig a wire between the bridge saddle and push pins that touches all the strings and runs down to the volume pot. Effective but tacky.... does anyone know how the new J160e's are dealing with this issue ???
Red 333
I don't know about the vintage models, but on contemporary versions, there is a metal plate underneath the bridge that the ball ends go through. Red
