Love it[biggrin] Hear many complain about the 498 t, i like this pickup. What i also liked about this guitar was the fingerboard was quit dark, almost as ebony. Have seen other ebony sg's with brighter fingerboard. From now on this is my band guitar, kinda like the neck on this better than my 61 reissue sg. DSC00046.jpgDSC00045.jpgDSC00044.jpg

Congratulations on the new purchase. I like the fat neck too - I dislike the thin necks.

But for the 498T I agree with the people complaining - it's not my pick up. I preffer lower output, rounder and clearer sounding pickups - but that's not important. Make it sing with your band. Congrats once more

NICE! Ebony is truly an under appreciated color. It just looks cool, and nothing looks or sounds like an SG.

I also do not understand the dislike of the 498T. It is a great pickup, and was the standard pickup on Gibson SG's and Les Pauls for years, and everyone loved them.

Anyway, here's mine, along with a friend.

I think I'm going to buy the black sg standard when i have the money to do so. I just don't like the bright orange cherry finish. If the cherry could be a lot darker, like angus' walnut like color on his earlier sgs, then i'd get a cherry finish. I just want a dark finish.

Love the Sg btw! Every time i went to the gibson showcase in nashville(Which i hear won't be returning D:) I'd play a left handed black sg. I loved the feel of it so much. The knobs were backwards though. Instead of turning them to the right to turn them up(for a left handed guitar that is) you turned them left, like on a right handed guitar.
