MissouriPicker
I've been playing lot of John Sebastian's "You Didn't Have to Be So Nice." Pretty easy to play the way he did when he was playing acoustic guitar and a swarm of other folksy instruments with his Lovin' Spoonful band. The melody is easy to find and fingerpick, or pick the individaul notes as you strum it. Either way it's easy to have the melody line right in the midst of wherever you are in the song. Sweet song. L5Larry
The last couple of evenings, for some reason, I've be fixated on Duke Ellington's "Don't get Around Much Anymore". This YouTube example is kind of what I'm trying to do with it as a solo guitar piece:

jefleppard
I've almost got Hallelujah down' date=' great song..... [/quote'] i've had to learn a slew of covers for the open mic night that i recently started hosting. in fact, i told everyone via facebook invites that i know david's secret chord (an obvious lie and for this i am ashamed). i do an array - from older rock stuff (cheap trick 'surrender') to newer indie rock stuff like audioslave's "doesn't remind me". i also do johnny cash's hurt and "sam hall'. quite a mix. i just learned flying burrrito's 'hot burrito #1' - possibly the most mournful song ever. though i find that learning covers has distracted me from writing my own stuff and i dont care for that one bit, open mic is helping me with my stage presence and between song banter. it's helping me to become a more rounded entertainer, not just a player. drathbun
I'm doing a fingerstyle arrangement of "Dream a Little Dream of Me" to play at a friend's wedding in September while she is walking down the aisle. No pressure of course!
McDuff
Trying to untangle "no children" by Mountain goats and "I'm yours" by Jason Mraz. I have to say though my voice doesn't match up with "I'm yours at all".
