DiamondJig
2008 SG 61 RI couldn't resist Picked it up from GC with a trade in plus a 15% trade in/up coupon. They said the same guy has traded it in and repurchased it twice before. They had a 2010 hang'n side by side, thought this one looked better. Thanks for all the replies, I double checked the back of the head stock. It says made in USA 2008 and the serial number decodes: Aug 5, 2008 guitar # 470 The store tag said 2005. Preserves the great looks, but you don't get to enjoy the looks. Or then you enjoy it to the fullest, but what happens? One day you spill your coke or your coffee and there they go... Rewddawg1
Fantastic looking guitar. Nice score man! I like those 61' reissues. They kind of remind me of my SG-3. Gotta love those SG's. Congrats. Rewd.

Dub-T-123
I've never seen a '61 RI with bevels like that. I think the bevels on my Standard are deeper at least the horns taper in nicely at the end. They don't do that on Standards! Either way that's a nice looking SG. Congrats on a sweet SG!
rockman82
I can't really tell, but the number on the back of the headstock looks like 2008, but it's hard to read. Love the sg though! It looks exactly like my epiphone, even the bevels, which is unusual, because the bevels on gibsons are always much better.

Jef
That one came from Los Angeles; it is a 2001 Ebony Stain. From what I understand that was a ltd. finish but I don't know the particulars.

It almost looks like a very dark cherry finish, like on the old sgs.
Rewddawg1
Here's some pics of my 2007 SG-3. There's quite a bit of resemblance between the 2. I have new pup covers that I'll put on if I ever sell but I doubt that will ever happen. I really dig the Heritage Cherry finish on SG's. Rewd.
