Epiphone Replacement Parts, or Equivalents

A Gibson dealer should be able to order Epiphone parts. I think that Tone Pros makes a stop bar tailpiece in metric that will fit, but you'll need to measure the exact dimensions to be sure. The knobs are also likely metric and you can check at the usual guitar parts locations Stewart MacDonald, All Parts, and Guitar Parts Resource. Jay at Guitar Fetish might also have some knobs that fit.

If the knobs won't fit you could probably swap out the pots for CTS and use standard knobs, but that's quite a bit to do just for new knobs.

I swapped out all of the gold hardware on a Sheraton II for chrome last year and it took about four months to get everything, but my local dealer, who was Gibson authorized, was able to find parts for me.

Good luck,

Cassady

P.S. The businesses suggested above are URLs, just put your mouse on them and click--they don't show up as blue, which I expected.

My dealer can't get them' date=' I can't find a website that actually sells them, and Gibson parts do not fit.

Where can I actually buy these things at?

I need a new saddle, stop Bar Tail-Piece, and four new top-hat speed knobs for my G-400!!!

Thanks[/quote']

Found that out the hard way

cannot find replacement pickups for the elite casino.

gibson only refered me to online sellers, all of which proved useless.

the regular model casino is available

but i've read the size of the bridge pickup

is different, (japanese specs?)

ken armstrong does make p90's for casino

but uncertain if they would fit.

my intention was to have pickups made by someone i was in contact with,

but they wanted me to send the actual pickups from my guitar.

i was going to have a luthier put them in with replacement electronics,

knobs, etc.

i have yet to find out if the armstrongs' will fit.

this is an odd position for gibson to take i think, especially

with the elite casino.

my belief is that if you purchase a guitar, you ought to be able

to buy replacement parts without too much trouble and expense.

if anyone has any info regarding this would be appreciated.

i've tried all the usual suspects; all parts, warmoth, stew mac, etc.

no body really has them. one site hosts armstrong's.

i would buy his only for the covers. his description of p90's

basically has one spec. (generic).

i want to have something more customized to my preferences.

i attempted this some months ago w/no success.

thanks all

I doubt the knobs at Stew-Mac or All-Parts will fit on my Epiphone! Remember, the Gibson types will not fit at all as they have two different numbers of splines!

I guess the only option is to drive 90 miles to my closest Gibson/Epiphone dealer.

Thanks for trying to help though!

Don't be so quick to dismiss what will and won't fit. Listen to some of these guys, many of who actually do know what they are talking about. I have personally replaced the knobs on my Epi LP with knobs from GFS, but regardless, most sellers of knobs understand that there are generally the US size (e.g. Gibson) knobs, and the foreign size (e.g. Epiphone). In fact, many are so labeled. If not, just drop them a line and ask them.

You can get the tailpiece and bridge through Rays Custom Shop on Ebay, go with Protone for sustain, I did. Do your self a favor and swap out those junk pots for some CTS Audio taper 500 K pots, then buy some orange drop .022 400v. capacitors to go with them, or better yet a set of Vitamin Q .022 400v. capacitors. You won't believe the difference in tone. That takes the mud right out of your ax !

Stew-mac sells the coarse-splined knobs which fit Alpha (and other Asian) pots. If you want knobs to fit CTS (i.e. American) pots, go to Allparts.

And they're either 'top-hat' or else 'speed' knobs... they can't be both. =P~

This has been a ridiculous situation for far too long - for me it would be ideal to use genuine Epiphone parts when modding or repairing, they used to be available in the UK but no longer. If I need to replace something silly like a missing volume knob I would like to be able to buy one exactly the same as came on the guitar.

I know there are plenty of non-original parts out there but I can't be the only one who would like to replace like for like.

HOW HARD CAN IT BE!

Power to the people.
