Go ahead and get one.

The hum problems of the early production have been ironed out in the more recent product.

Recent production is consistant' date=' good sounding out of the box, acceptably well built and reliable.

The amp lends itself superbly to simple and affordable modding or or "hotrodding" .

It's a tinkerers delight. That's why you see so much talk of VJ modding...not because it [i']needs [/i]it .

It's suprising how much it can be tailored to taste simply by the informed choice of different tubes too.

You have to admit somethings are tricky. Like the SGR.. cutting traces. getting good solder points on your own. getting it to stay. Compared to some of my other mods that one was really tough.

But boy.. most things are so easy.. patience, a safety eye, and planning and you can do some pretty cool things to this amps tone.

And so much information and help.. that doesn't hurt.
