Poll for QingDao EE Owners

Vic Flick

Recommended Posts

My two most recent Epiphone have been Korean models. I'm curious what models are being made at QingDao??? Do they produce the full line, or just specific models???

Since I'm only allotted 9 choices, I left one for other various models. If you check other, please let us know which model in a post. Thanks.

It won't let me vote twice' date=' Jerrymac. I voted for Dot because my Dot Studio was my first EE and I've now also got my Alpine White Limited Edition SG. BTW, did you get one of these when M123 screwed up the price?

I ordered one, but they backed out. Said they ran out of stock. Never even had the decency to email me. I called them a over week later, that's when I found out.

I just added my 10th Epi to the collection ('07 Honeyburst Standard + Top) which is EE. The other 9 are all not only Korean, they're also all Saein guitars. They're all pretty outstanding instruments, especially at the prices I paid.

I was pretty discouraged by the Chinese Epis I played until I found the newest LP which, as I said was an EE. The others I'd played up to that point were all DaeWon and they were universally garbage. In fairness, I think it was Coop on the old forum who mentioned that he had a few DWs and thought they were pretty nice, so I guess Chinese QC just hasn't hit it's stride yet.

I just received an EE Casino on Friday, and must admit I was peased as punch! I was apprehensive about ordering one after playing a Chinese a year or two ago. Then they IMO were pretty shoddy, but after reading the glowing reviews lately, I figured what the hell, it can alway's go back.

The build quality is excellent, a few small cosmetic things, but nothing to lose sleep over. The look is identical to the Lennon Rev'. It has the Beatle's tone in gobs, I'm really diggin' it.

I don't understand the beef with MF though, I've dealt with them for year's, and never had a problem. Lucky, I quess.

I've been drooling over the EE G-400s for some months now, we've had a couple of really nice ones go through the store... but the last two Epis I've purchased have both been Unsungs: a G-400 Maestro and a Les Paul Special, both 'Custom Shop' LE guitars. I was kind of disappointed that the G-400 wasn't an EE but I do prefer the Unsung in one respect: no fake African mahogany veneer on it.

I got a white EE G400 about three weeks ago. It was gorgeous. The only complaint I have was that the slots in the nut for the 4th and 5th strings were improperly cut. The 4th string slot was cut at a slight angle. The one for the 5th string was too narrow. Both strings were hanging up in the slots making tuning a bit of a PIA. I discovered this when I restrung it using Ernie Ball 10 - 46, a few hours after taking delivery.

Using a small piece of 1000 wet and dry I gradually removed just enough material to fix the problem with each string.

I had no issues at all with my Korean made ES-135.
