5th Epiphone

Bought my 5th Epiphone today, a Les Paul Standard. I've been using a 52 Reissue Gold Top for the last few months. It is a great guitar.

Thought I should get into the humbucker world and the Standard seemed like a good choice.

The flame top is a knock out. I lowered the pickups to get a real clean sound. It can't be compared to the 52 Reissue.

I was at the Iridium Club in New York on Monday and saw Les Paul and his trio. I knew that when I got home a new Epi would be joining the family.

Any Standard users out there? Comments?

Now if I could only play "How High The Moon".

I just received my seventh a week ago today, a Casino in natural. I was apprehensive about the guitars built in China, but after getting an AJ200S a few months ago my fear disapeared. The Casino is all I hoped it would be, nice build quality & playability. The Tone is simply beautiful, no wonder The Beatles loved them. The tones I alway's loved off ABBEY ROAD are at my finger tips. Amazing!!!

Hello Shartom,

I too have a Standard. Can't speak for others but, I like mine. Like you I have other gitfiddles. They are all unique in their own right. Personally, I could not be more pleased. Hope you feel the same. By the way, the moon is just a finger tip higher than most of us can reach. LOL

I have 2 Epi Standards(plus top- HCSB & Wine Red) a Korean '03 and a Chinese '04 I put Burst Buckers in them also installed a graphite nut on the Korean. I love them both, I have a friend Travis who has 7 Gibson Les Pauls and I feel pretty good about how well mine compare to his. I have a slight preference for the Korean, but both are really great guitars esp for the price about $400 -$500.

I have two Standards myself and love them both unconditionally. When I'm done screwing around with my Ibanez guitars, I go to these for the best playability and tone of my collection. Always a good choice, unbeatable for the $$$.
