Guitar Dater Project (mini-story and question)

I found a picture of this Epi Les Paul while researching the LP 2: My Epiphone Les Paul

And I looked up the serial # for fun because I was bored, and the result said it was built in Korea in October of 1962! Any idea why that happened?

The question is: Are there any other websites like Guitar Dater that support Squiers?

Well, GDP is far from infallible. Nothing can replace good old-fashioned know-how. However in this case, it's your fault because you entered a serial beginning with '6'. In actuality that's a 'B'; this is one of those Czech-made Epis built for the European market.

There are links to Squier info pages that can be found on the Fender/Squier tech support page.

Well, in cases of ambiguity, always remember that Epi serials typically start with one or two alphabetic characters. Here, let me enhance that one for you:

better?

FWIW it's likely that it's an October 1992 guitar.
