undertow
I have seen a lot of Gibsons models reissued by Epiphone (ES-135, ES-175 etc...), and I'm wondering how faithful the reproduction is, as far as the necks are concerned. I have a Gibson 135 with the most unbelievably perfect neck (for me, of course), which Gibson refers to as a "rounded" profile. I have never played an Epiphone with this kind of neck profile. I guess my real question is, do the reissues get a Gibson neck profile or an Epiphone neck profile? I have an Epiphone Sorento, and I like it. If it had the same neck as my 135, I would love it. Biff
The neck profile depends a lot on the model and factory, one would assume they can be somewhat similar but not identical to the Gibson necks which are hand-rolled and sort of unique.
RotcanX
I sincerely doubt that there's any serious effort to duplicate the Gibson neck profile. None of these guitars are really 'reissues' in any exact sense... the correct term is 'copies', with all that implies.
