Which is the best electric guitar epiphone has ever made? (someone told me it was the casino) I live in Mexico city and I was trying to get one, but I couldn't, so I bought an epi sheraton, which makes me smile too, but I still want to get a casino, I don't know, when you fall in love you just fall in love. What about you, which epi model do you think is the best?

Do you plan to buy one? See my response above. Your question, to quote someone else in an earlier thread, is constructed with circular logic. There is no correct, or incorrect answer, and so all answers are subject to criticism. You need to address limitations such as: at a Hootenanny; at a Metallica concert; with a jazz trio; etc., etc., etc. See? the answer's going to be different for darn near everybody, depending on what kind of music that person likes best.

"best" depends on what you like, of course. But generally, I'm very impressed by the quality of the Epi's thse days, so my answer is - they're all good! Why people will spend sometimes almost 10x the price of a fine Epi just to get a different name on the headstock is beyond me...

but what about the models made before epiphone was bought

That's a good question. In my experience, I would have to say the Sheraton, the

Riviera, and the Howard Roberts model. There was an Emperor full body 3 pickup as well (in 63),

... listed in my Gibson Guitars book, (Ted McCarty's Golden years).

I was never a solid body player until recently when I got the Epi LP, but they made some

excellent models such as the Cornet, Wilshire, Crestwood, Crestwood Deluxe,

Olympic Double, and a Les Paul-ish... Olympic Special double cutaway with a whammy bar.

I feel in these modern Epi days the nicest one I think I have seen so far is the reissue 57 Junior IMO.

They did a great job with these. Also, RotcanX's LP Special HC with Soapbars is pretty unique.

One of those LP Special Japanese Epi's are next on my list for sure. Gorgeous guitars.

The best? Always subjective. However, the Korean gold-top Les Paul I gave my grandson is unbelieavably good. And the worn-brown G-400 I just bought for $299 is without a doubt a fine guitar and a great value.

By the way - I just put two GFS Crunchy PATS on this guitar - great addition. I also put two GFS Bigmouths on a Korean Les Paul I own - another winning addition.
