I was at a local shop saturday and saw a Les Paul I couldn't take my eyes (or hands) off of. I asked about trading in some stuff since I've kind of blown my guitar budget lately. He said a guy had just been in looking at it and went to have a coffee with his wife to think it over. He preferred getting all cash for it, but I could call monday and if it was still there, we could work something out. Long story short, it's home now...

What les paul is it?

It's a 2001 Les Paul Classic Plus in Trans amber. I'm still finding out about this particular model, since the "Classics" went through several different versions from about the early 90s on. I've been too busy playing it to do much research.

What I do know is it's a one piece, NON weight-relieved back, 60s neck, 490R / 500T ceramic pick-ups and ABR bridge. It came with the brown and pink case, all the hang tags, original receipt, and the original (NEVER installed) pickguard.

Nice find.. Here is my 06 Standard Trans-Amber Not as much flame as yours

Those Trans-Ambers and Rootbeer's are hard to find

Yours looks great. I don't mind when the flame doesn't go right to the edge (on an original burst, that would have been covered by red anyway). It just has a more 50s/60s look to it. Although there are some originals with crazy flame on them, the nicer ones seem to be a little more subtle. They didn't go out of their way to select AAAAA tops back then.
