I play hard rock, metal, trash metal, old school.. punk etc..... RotcanX Posted April 8, 2008 Share Posted April 8, 2008 Well, try out an Epi LP Standard or the Epi G-400, and see which one appeals most to you in terms of sound, playability and comfort. Note that playability might have to be tweaked via a good tune-up. That'll keep you under $500. For a little more you could look at the Epi LP Custom which is the fanciest model. If you have a bigger budget, check out some low-end Gibsons such as the LP Studio, the BFG, or the SG Special or SG Standard. If you have the opportunity, try out an Epi Elitist Les Paul while you're at it; about the same cost as a Gibson Studio but prettier to look at and with a slimmer neck.
