Quick Tuning Question

Recommended Posts

This isnt really an epi question but still, I trust you guys. Can you have a dropped tuning with a locking trem. I would like a guitar with a locking trem, but I play almost exclusively in drop C and the rest of the time in drop D. Thanks guys.

If you tune the E string so the fine tuner set really low, you might be able back off it enought to hit drop D. Otherwise you can get something called a D-tuna. Dont know much about them, but i hear thats what they do. I'd give it a google and see what comes up.

The same way you'd tune any other guitar. Open the locks on the nut, tune it down (adjusting the tremolo spring tension as required to keep the bridge level) then once it stabilizes re-tighten the nut locks.

Uhhh... by the way... changing tunings from one to another on a FR-equipped guitar is not a wise idea. You pretty much want to stick with one tuning as it takes a fair amount of time to get things adjusted properly each time.
