TommyK
I know this is not an acoustic, but thought it of interest to some of the 'old timers' here. I ran across this one: Gibson / Epiphone "Spirit" Perplexing is it was built in the 1980s in the "Kalamzoo plant". Did Gibson still own this plant in the '80s? Also, quite interesting, is the statement that some Spirits, built as Epiphones were re-branded as Gibsons and the "Epiphone" logo can still be seen if you look closely as it is under neath the "Gibson" Logo. This IS Wikipedia, so cannot be take as cannon. Anybody else know the history of this?

stan 58
I own a spirit 2 built in nashville in 84. It has a maple top and a bound body. I remember seeing epi spirits after I got mine, and I wasn,t that happy. All in all not a bad little guitar. Stan.
Rockin_Dude
Yes they still had the plant in Kalamzoo ,Mich then. an still made some guitars there as far as i can remember. An after talking to one of my cousin who work there till 1985 He retired then so not sure if this is right the plant closed in the late 80.
