1995 Epiphone Firebird

Recommended Posts

Just picked this one up on e-bay. Inspired by watching Billy Gibbons play his Gretsch "Billy-bo". Serial number says its made at the Unsung Guitar Factory in Korea - 1995 - 136th guitar. I foresee some upgrades like GFS pickups, new pots and swithces and tonepros bridge and stopbar and maybe some Stienberger tuners. Check out the pics at www.photobucket.com/swhttn/firebird and click on Epi Firebird just to the left of "Parts" picture.

I didn't know Epi made a Firebird with a bolt on neck. I guess I don't get out much. I put GFS mini's in my Firebird VII and now it sounds like it should have originally. I left the original pups in some of my other Epi's but the mini's were horrible, they needed to go.

The original Firebird Vs by Epiphone were bolt neck with dot fret markers; you had to jump up to the VII to get a set neck. However Epi has recently issued a very LE Firebird V that has the set neck and the trapezoid inlays; basically a two-pickup version of the VII.
