OutoftheBlues
Just picked this one up on e-bay. Inspired by watching Billy Gibbons play his Gretsch "Billy-bo". Serial number says its made at the Unsung Guitar Factory in Korea - 1995 - 136th guitar. I foresee some upgrades like GFS pickups, new pots and swithces and tonepros bridge and stopbar and maybe some Stienberger tuners. Check out the pics at www.photobucket.com/swhttn/firebird and click on Epi Firebird just to the left of "Parts" picture.
TheX
I didn't know Epi made a Firebird with a bolt on neck. I guess I don't get out much. I put GFS mini's in my Firebird VII and now it sounds like it should have originally. I left the original pups in some of my other Epi's but the mini's were horrible, they needed to go. RobinTheHood
Very nice! I've always liked those, especially in red. A used guitar store down the street from me had one in pretty poor contition as a resto. project for $100. Very tempting if I had good soldering chops. RotcanX
I didn't know Epi made a Firebird with a bolt on neck. The original Firebird Vs by Epiphone were bolt neck with dot fret markers; you had to jump up to the VII to get a set neck. However Epi has recently issued a very LE Firebird V that has the set neck and the trapezoid inlays; basically a two-pickup version of the VII.
