JefferySmith
Here's an auction for an Epiphone Elitest Casino: http://www.bidtopia.com/detail.aspx?id=353047 What's this sell for retail? Guitar Center says $1' date='349.00[/quote'] Just about everywhere on-line is $1,349. MF says that retail is $2,075. The fact that this one seems to be beat up and is a "no return" item suggests that it is to be avoided. Didn't the seller rate it as 3 out of 5 stars? jozluck
Guitars are like women, sometimes you can't help who you fall in love with...no matter what it cost... You can quote me...just give me credit....LOL! Honestly, if you can't play it and don't know, that old idim from school applies: When in doubt, leave it out... Didn't the seller rate it as 3 out of 5 stars? Bidtopia is kinda weird. Auctions are from companies that gets items as overstocks, returns, and various other reasons. They used to list on Ebay, but got tired of the fees so created their own auction site. I believe everything is listed by them alone. The item descriptions are never very informative. This one says scuffs/smudges, but every one of their auctions disclaims "sold as is". Yes, it might be a gamble I suppose, on the other hand though... jozluck
You also have to be careful on Ebay. They sell their own 'pallet' goods via various names. The Distribution/wharehouse managers can list item off the floor also. These are goods purchased in 'lots' unseen from auctioneers throughout the USA ... and try to get your money back from EBAY.... You don't, only a Credit....I got messed up on a Laney amp. they were selling and forgot to put a Reserve price on it. The bid was so low, they STOPPED THE AUCTION saying it was a bad seller...that cost me some 40$ as it created a 'glitch' and re posted my sale items three times....I found out from a friend who worked at their whse. in Greensboro, NC back then. Your better off at the store...or a personal sale of your guitar. You may get more selling it via Craigslist locally to someone then going in with cash to make a deal.... Its better to see what your purchasing. Places like Guitar Center will even ship a guitar in from another store if your interested in it....
