jefleppard Posted June 4, 2008 Share Posted June 4, 2008 i played the performer ME at GC after seeing that it had won "best in the under 500pound" class in an english gear mag. it looks like an ikea guitar to me even with the abalone- kind of stripped down and bare. it has that typical maple, jangly sound and the pickup was of theusual transducer variety - snappy and somewhat compressed. i was not too impressed, realizing that i was going to have to pay more for something acceptable. that's just me. i guess i'm a bit picky. i have not played the SE, however, the masterbuilts play nicely alongside of pricier guitars in the mid to high range.
