masterbuilt 500's

I have a master built 500r and was wondering how different the pine and mahogany are for sound

The DR500P is maPle, not pine. In a guitar of the same design, maple is generally used to emphasize the upper frequencies more, while rosewood is used to emphasize the bottom. Mahogany is somewhere in between.

Yes, Maple is brighter, Mahogany is described as warmer and Rosewood is darker and a bit dryer sounding.

Find a dealer like GC and most likely they will have all 3 tone woods in stock. Play them all and decide what you like, or if you have one tone wood acoustic already try something different than what you have already.
