pohatu771
They're labelled as new? I thought they'd been around for a long time. I suppose it's a decent alternative to a Hofner. I haven't played an Epiphone, but I played a Johnson version today in a store for a minute. The first thing I noticed was the weight. It was lighter than my Stratocaster, but not quite as light as my Casino. The second thing I noticed was the size. They're tiny. Think... Strat, with the horns cut off. Tomorrow while I'm at Guitar Center, I'm going to check out any viola-style basses they have. I'm in the market for a nice bass in the $200-$300 range, and this (or something similar) may fit the bill.
RobinTheHood
Yeah, the Viola bass has been around for a long time. Not sure how long, but they are a somewhat popular model for Epi.
pohatu771
I was at Guitar Center today, and they didn't have any. I wanted to try one out.
