FS: Epiphone Elitist Riviera 12-String Cherry Electric Guitar

Recommended Posts

I've regretfully decided to sell my perfect condition Epiphone Elitist Riviera 12 String. According to the serial number, it was made in the Japanese Terada factory in 2003. I'm including a copy of the original receipt as well. I'll be happy to entertain all best offers.

Thanks for the sentiment. :)

These 12-string rivieras don't go up for sale very often, it took me months to find this new in stock when they were still in production! I better shut up or I won't want to sell it any longer... hehe

Same problem' date=' which won't allow me to bid on it....otherwise, I'd "Buy it now!" Damn!!!

Hmmm, you became a member the very day you decided to sell this guitar. Your feedback from previously trying to sell this guitar isn't sterling. Why do I think you joined this forum to troll your ebay items in front of us? I know the others might not agree with me on this point, but you appear to be a solicitor rather than a forum member, and more of an ebay dealer than someone forced to sell his beloved guitar because of bills.

Perhaps if we had a forum called "Classified Ads" this might be more appropriate. My $.02.

Jeffrey, I just found the Epiphone forum because I thought people here might be interested in the guitar. I didn't see a classified section so I made a post here. If it's not appropriate, mods please delete the thread.

Regarding the previous "buyer" that you mentioned, it sounds like you'd like some details. He decided a few days after he won my auction that he either didn't want or couldn't afford the guitar, so instead of contacting me like a normal person, he filed a paypal dispute and demanded a refund. (thankfully before I shipped). Of course I refunded him the minute I saw the dispute, I considered that a huge red flag. Anyway, I filed a non-paying bidder to recoup the Ebay final value fees and he gets angry at the unpaid item strike and leaves me my first and only negative, emboldened by Ebay's new feedback rules that sellers cannot leave negative feedback. This is going to be happening more frequently as the bad apples abuse this new system. It was by far the worst Ebay experience I've had since I started using it several years ago.

Also, I'm not a career "ebay dealer" out to troll the Epiphone forum and annoy people. If you must know, I have a giant pile of medical bills that need to be paid. You could always try to get to know me before making assumptions and attacking my credibility. Thanks for rolling out the welcome mat, jeez.

Thanks for the clarification. I'm guessing that you'll be a "regular" on this forum from now on. We discuss all sorts of things related to Epiphone electrics. I find the people here to be invaluable sources of information regarding these guitars. You may want to make it your home page.

Welcome aboard, Marc....

Hope you'll stick around and contribute to the forum. Lots of good folks here. And, one of

if not THE friendliest forums around.

We too, have been "burned" a few times, with unsolicited posters, and "crack pots,"

that "burn and run," so to speak, so I'm afraid we can get a bit questioning, at times,

as to motives, on posts like yours. No offense intended, though...OK? Sorry, about your

medical bills, and the need to sell the 12-string. But, do stick around, and join the

craziness.

Cheers,

CB

I don't know if I detect a hint of sarcasm in your post or not. Anyhow, I own several other Epiphone Elitist guitars (including an awesome casino) and have been browsing around the forum for the past few hours finding out all sorts of things I didn't know. Personally I think the Elitists are some of the best guitars for the money. Price/performance ratio is simply excellent.

Just a personal peeve of mine. I'm the same way when I get unsolicited sales calls at home or when Jehovah's Witnesses come to my door wondering if I'm interested in changing religions. I don't think the moderators frown on sales posts, though. In the past, they haven't deleted posts by newbies inviting forum members to compete for their ebay items. It's probably better netiquette to offer the guitar before it is placed on ebay, and give an asking price. That way, the forum isn't competing with the rest of the Western World for the item.

Thanks Charlie, I definitely will. I didn't even think about looking for an Epiphone forum until recently.

And thanks for the sympathy re: medical bills. Who knew an inner ear infection could ever be a "pre-existing condition" and not be covered by Blue Cross. :/

Isn't EVERYTHING a "Pre-existing condition," when it comes to insurance companies?!!!

(So they don't have to pay!!) Talk about a "Pet Peeve!" That's one of mine, for sure!

Miss one premium, and you're history, but they'll do anything THEY can, to NOT have to

pay out, when YOU need it! $%^&*T%R!!! Sorry...don't get me started! LOL! Besides,

any money we have to pay that way, only infringes on our Epi (or other) buying funds...

which pretty much Sucks!! Hang in there!

I definitely concur. Incredibly, Blue Cross is claiming that way back in my medical history I had frequent ear infections as a child (I'm now in my 30's)! So in their opinion, they aren't responsible for covering the $1500 inner ear MRI the doctor thought I needed (which thankfully came back normal). They sure have no problem accepting my monthly premiums though.

Reminds me of a story:

An HMO President dies and ends up at the Pearly Gates. St. Peter asks him who he is and why he should be let into Heaven.

He responds that he was the president of a major HMO and they provided affordable health care for a lot of people.

St. Peter nodded and told him that he had just the place for him. He ushered him to a reasonably large mansion. The president was delighted and thanked him profusely. St. Peter said, "That's all right, just don't get too comfortable. We only let you stay here for three days."
