Oh, shucks. Gee whiz, guys! If you play out, you probably know creepier people than that face-to-face already. I guarantee any porfessional bartender has stories about weirdos and freakazoids that come out to play at night. As an example, a woman I once, um, spent quality time with, would only do it with me the first time if we went to a place where the Zodiac had killed two parked lovers the week before. She isn't the strangest, either. There was one who raised German Shepards and boa constrictors. Another one sewed herbs and things into little flannel bags and stuck them in my pockets to ward away evil. Twice, a man in a bar pulled a gun on me. Once, in a little backroads bar near Lake Charles, Louisiana, I watched a woman walk in, gun in hand, walk up to a man and woman sitting in a booth, looked at them and shook her head. Handed the woman the gun and told her she might as well have the one as the other. Then she turned around and walked out. What's a picture?

OT' date=' your avatar is really starting to freak me out.

1) I see it out of the corner of my eye when I read your posts.- - a little creepy.

2) I read your posts as if you are that avatar and they sometimes are more stinging than meant to be.

Interesting 2nd point. OK. Just imagine I'm using this avatar to give my postings some fake sense of authority, and to cover up the fact I'm really a spineless pushover.... That help?

Nope, it doesn't help. I will live with it since I like J. Depp's work.

Damn, it's looking at me again.

12006 60th Anniversary American Strat

9b3d12ll2.jpg

Hmmm... I thought the 60th anniversary American Strats were all sunburst with the silver tweed/magenta plush '60th diamond anniversary' case. Or is that just a 2006 Strat with the 60th anniversary plate on the neck as opposed to the 60th anniversary Strat model?

That was a 1966 D-18 until FedEX ran a Truck or forklift over it. There were treadmarks on the box.

Didn't seem very funny to me!

Ouch... I'm sorry D...I hope you were adequately compensated? Forgive the poor choice of words, but I think I would be shattered if that would happen to me...=D>

Compensated? Yes.

Adeuately? No. But that was mostly my own $%#* fault.

But people need to be aware that FedEX limits their liability on vintage (20+ years old) guitars to $100. I had specifically identified the guitar and the age on the bill of lading and that probably got me beyond the limit. That and the obvious gross negligence on the part of their driver/contractor -- whichever dirty rotten b*$&*#d did this to the guitar I had had for 40 years! I know all companies have problems but I will NEVER use FedEX ground again if I can avoid it! FedEX air is like a totally different company.

And this used to be my Martin D-18 until FedEX got ahold of it:

I just threw up in my mouth.

That really sucks. FedEx seems like a d*ck of a company after that. I don't get these problems because I don't do a lot of buying or trading or selling on the internet, but if I did, I'll avoid FedEx ground.
