jozluck
Does anyone know how to wire this thing.... I got one from someone who had her luithier rewire it to the orginial, or so said, and a pot went out...and a pickup was out....and the tone pot only worked on one pickup...interesting....as when I got the new pots and re wired exaclty as it was, nothing worked so, I used the Epiphone Sheration system as the Gibson LP varients did not work either. I need someone to send me the diagram if possible to my email: joz_luck@yahoo.com if possible. Gibson tried to foward it to me, but it wont come through..I have to use a public system at the college. I need it copied and posted in the mail, not attached or fowarded in a file. If you know what I mean...they won't open files here. This thing was completly different than any Gibson or Epiphone diagram...so I rewired it to the Sheraton II model...but: the new pots (CTS 500 volume) are hit and miss. Very little adjustment and the neck pickup does not turn off completely...... the tone pots have little effect. It is clean, not one bit of distortion, not one bit of feedback ( unless I turn up the neck pickup all the way).....new pots, new capacitors...so it has to be the wireing... HELP !!!.....b][/b]
RotcanX
You need to test all your components. A new wiring diagram is not going to fix your problem; the Joe Pass should work perfectly with either the Les Paul setup or the Sheraton setup; all three are the same (two pickups, two volumes, two tones, 3-way switch). So, either you have made an error in your wiring or you have a bum part or two.
shartom
I have to agree. There is nothing unusual about the wiring. I was going to add a master volume to my JP.nce I got inside the thing, forget it. Make sure the wiring at the pickup selector switch is correct. It can be a little confusing.
