AJ18SNA

Hey all, new here, and wondering how much a AJ18SNA 6 string acoustic is worth? I got it given to me and it needs a little work. I didn't want to spend a bunch on this thing if it's only worth, say, $50 or so. I am PRETTY sure that is an AJ18SNA, but not 100% sure. It has gold Grover tuners (I think they are aftermarket?), split diamond dots, and the 12th fret has the inlay with the triangle in the middle. It doesn't have the sticker and I can't find any serial numbers on it. It is a left handed guitar, and it needs strings, and I think the neck is slightly bent, but probably can be adjusted by a shop. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the info, I put strings on it last night, and it sure does sound good. After re-stringing it, I am convinced that the Grover tuners ARE factory, but still not sure about the model number. Also, it doesn't have a neck adjustment rod. I don't know if a shop can straighten it out or not. The neck is barely bent, but is certainly playable. I wonder if a guy could put a slightly shorter body bridge on it to bring the strings down slightly?

Dusty[/quote'] Are you certain it has no truss rod ??? Is there a truss rod cover ? I have an AJ18SNA.....has gold Gotoh tuners, has inlays that sound like yours, has a trc (am assuming there's a rod in there - have not yet needed neck adjustment - I'll check one of these days). The model number and serial number are typically on a sticker inside the guitar body....if you have no sticker, then it's a guessing game, unless you can find some to compare it to. I find mine to be a pretty darned decent acoustic, fits my needs, anyway. I hear ya on the action ...... mine's kind of high, but since I don't have my LP's action super low, switching from the AJ to the Les Paul isn't as drastic a change as it could be. Still might lower the LP a bit , though...and get some lighter strings for the AJ - I like to be able to bend 'em, and the strings I have now are pretty heavy....

There is a truss rod cover that says Gibson with three screws in it, and there isn't anything in there, not even a hole where there might have been a truss rod at one point. Inside the sound hole, I looked and felt in there, and there isn't anything in there either. If it isn't an AJ18SNA, (the jury's still out), then I can't find anything on the internet that looks like it.
