e_lespaul
what is behind the pickguard of tthe epiphone goth explorer?(the one with the whammy) i dont like the look of the pickguard and was wondering what it would look like if i took it off, is it hollowed out behind the pickguard like this http://www.pickersparts.com/khxc/media/ccp0/prodsm/mim_body_red_01white.jpg or is it more like this, where even without the pickguard, the guitar still will work and look fine http://www.larrythegeek.com/guitar_pix/images/esp_exp.jpg
matiac
I can't help ya, the last thing I had explorer shaped was a Jackson Kelly, it had no pickguard, hardtail, after I got my Epiphone, I got rid of it cuz it sounded like a ukelele compared to it ('ol Blue). JRizZ
I would think that seeing as the switch is located on top of the pickguard it is going to be hollow at least at that part to accomodate the switch and wiring.
RotcanX
I changed the PG on my Korina Explorer to a black one but unfortunately that was long enough ago that I can't remember what went on underneath. At the very least there is a hole where the switch is and I'm not sure but I believe there is a routed slot of some length leading up to it... Ricochet
If there's no switchplatecover on the back, the routing probably looks like this.
