What happened to The Beatles Thread?! Not

enough mention of "Epiphone Electric Guitars"

no doubt?! That's #$%^& amazing!

John, Epiphone '65 Epiphone Casino (Sunburst, then "Natural")

Paul, Epiphone Casino, with more "Gibson" like, headstock..(Sunburst)

and Epiphone Texan, acoustic....(Natural)

George, Epiphone Casino, with Bigsby...(Sunburst, later "Natural"...like John's)

The Beatles, are more responsible, for Epiphone's success, than any other

SINGLE Act, in History! So, why a thread, about them was deleted, is

incomprehensible, to me!

I just put up a thread on the Gibson (Les Paul) forum, about introducing a "George Harrison"

collection. "Lucy" LP, ES-345, '64 SG! We'll see how long THAT lasts? LOL!

I'd like to see a McCartney Casino (with the early headstock) and a Harrison Casino, with Bigsby,

as well. Maybe Epiphone could do the "Harrison Collection," too...or "instead?" Or...even

Epiphone Japan?! Gibby headstocks, and all! Hey, I can "dream," right?!

As always, there is no logical reason to delete these kinds of threads. For the

life of me, I cannot imagine what the "moderator" is thinking. And there's really

nothing in the forum rules that says threads are limited to specific topics. These

deletions serve absolutely nobody and only tend to annoy the otherwise happy

forum members

Well "highjacked" threads, on other subjects, have been allowed...

I mean..."Beer" is NOT guitars! Although I used to like a good beer,

as well as anyone...(diabetic now, can't have them). And, besides...

We always get back "on topic," and were headed that way, already...

I really don't get these people, at times! How much can we talk about'

the "nuts and bolts" of Epiphone Electrics?" Got to be SOME diversity,

don't you agree? Maybe it's just ME? ;>b LOL!

Reading Spitz's book on the Beatles is what rekindled my interest in guitars these past few years. When you talk about electric guitars, the scope is pretty narrow if you can't talk about the people playing them.

Maybe I'll visit a Beatles forum, post a topic about Casinos, and see if I get deleted there too. Guess we need a hybrid forum. I'll let y'all know if I can find a forum based entirely on Beatles and Epiphone guitars.

Well, while it lasts, I have a question. There's been a lot of dicussion, over the

last few decades, as to which guitar was responsible for the "Day Tripper" intro,

and solo work. Some claim it was the Sonic Blue Strat, other's George's SG, others,

his ES-345, and still other's John's Casino. I've read recently, that John played the

Intro, and the Solo! If that's true, it didn't say which guitar he used. Any ideas, or

facts, you might care to share? I've seen numerous discussions on this and no one

seems to have a definitive answer. I know in their "promo" films, for that song, George

is seen with his (new at the time) ES-345. Andy Babiuk claims it was just for "promo"

films! I think Day Tripper was recorded before George got his SG? Not sure, though..

since I wasn't there (lol). And, since Lennon is reported to have played the lead, anyway..

Would it be his Casino, or his Strat?! Doesn't much sound like his Ricky, but..."Who knows?"

You mean they get to talk about the Beatles on the Rickenbacker forum without the threads getting deleted? Maybe I'll hang out there instead. Why should I write a single word more in support of this brand?

Worse yet' date=' they are allowed to mention the names "Gibson" and "Gretsch" and "Strat" without being deleted. I tell you, it's [b']total anarchy[/b] on that Rickenbacker forum. Someone has got to stop them!

It just feels very wrong to be discussing music with fellow musicians and be censored of a...

Beatles thread? Especially on the official Epiphone forum?

You seem like a great bunch, but I think I'll remove my avatar in protest and quietly exit the stage.

Take care.

Epiphone is just afraid that if you hear about the other brands you might just check them out and see how special the Epiphones aren't.

Well, Revolver...do what your heart tells you...but I'm with "Uncle Al"...It's not going to

be that easy...besides, I like the members here, a lot. And have found some good information,

had some good discussions, been "roasted" a time or two (who hasn't)...it's like "home!" LOL!

The Ric Forum is good, too, though. So, if you change your mind, stick around, or come back!

Unless we all get "banned" we should still be around, toothless and bewildered, but...

stubborn and determined!

Cheers,

I didn't see the You Tube videos, but the thread might have been deleted if the videos contained copywrited material. There is LOTS of ongoing legal action right now challenging what material YouTube or Google (or Gibson or anybody) can or cannot host or link to, if the original source matrial is copywrited. Gibson is probably just trying to avoid being entangled in such a suit.

BUT, I wish the mods would remove JUST the offending post, not the thread!

That's actually a very valid point. The only reason a Casino is even heard of these days is because of John Lennon.

That's true but even more for a J160E.

I have one as it is the only way to get the "And I Love Her" dry almost unplugged electric tone but lets face it the J160E sucked as an acoustic and sucked as an electric it does neither well. If the Beatles had not picked them and played them they would be in the joke columns in Guitar Player magazine as one of the worst executed ideas ever by a major guitar maker.
