You can find alot of live Beatle thingys on youtube. Some of it out of sinc home movie quality but some like shea' date=' japan 66 and apple rooftop are pretty good.[/quote']

Yeah, I know...I just wish "Apple" and/or Paul & Ringo, would get a really good

DVD together, with all the best...and maybe even the funniest performances, too.

Humorous Out-takes, their early promo "films" that were the percurser to "Videos," etc.

The Beatles were not only a great band, but funny as Hell, too...and quite

"ahead of their time," visually..as well as musically. Some kind of "box set" or

some such. The Anthology is wonderful. but it leaves you wanting more! And,

maybe that's as it should be? I don't know...

Yeah thats my biggest gripe with Apple they just drag their collective feet on everything so you get like one major release a year if we're lucky. The entire beatles catalog has supposedly been upgraded sonically and its so overdue and yet nothing released. They should do like Dylan and start releasing stuff now for the fans. The odd takes, the funny studio chatter and all the great live stuff. I given up on Let It Be i'm sure I'll be dead long before its release.

The hope is some of the funny out-takes still exist. **** Lester went to UA to get a bunch of the out-takes from AHDN and Help in the early 70s but they threw them all out!

That's why for Help you get the missing scene explained but not seen. I think the answer was their policy was to throw stuff out after 5 years. They had to know by 1969 how famous the Beatles were and maybe we should make an exception and save their stuff, but policy was policy and they destroyed it.................IDIOTS!

but isn't that what was stolen years ago and then found when they busted some bootleggers. Supposedly tons of stuff they thought was gone forever. Let It be outtakes, breakdowns and such that were not on album or in film. Someone on the inner beatles circle said that when the LIB project finally comes out the public with be knocked out but alas still nothing.

I certainly hope you're right. Just hope we live that long...;>b We've been hearing

this "it's coming" noise, for years, now!

My favourite bit in the film is "Two of Us."

It's John and Paul sharing a microphone, and it looks like they're enjoying each other.

I also like seeing Ringo and Paul (I believe) playing their little piano bit.

I don't remember Paul and Ringo, but George and Ringo playing the piano and helping him with Octopus' Garden.

That's actually a very valid point. The only reason a Casino is even heard of these days is because of John Lennon.

Very true.

I think the Let It Be stuff is still around as the Beatles did this themselves. Yes I think some of it went missing as they just piled up all the recordings and film cans and walked away. Johns was brought in then Spector to dig through some of it and I don't know who Klein had do the film end.

I hope that bust was some of the stuff. They really need to go through what they have and see what is there.

I hate to say it but I think it will be the death of Paul and Ringo that will really open the doors as to what is left in the vaults and it will all be on the market. Sad to say but look at the death of Lennon. I'm not saying Yoko cashed in and I'm sure her reasoning is to keep John's name in the public eye with all this stuff, but I see the same happening when the 2 final keepers of the legend are no more.

You're both right, there is footage of Paul and Ringo playing for fun, and George helping Ringo with 'O.G.'.

In terms of a DVD release for 'Let It Be', as I said in an earlier message, the outtakes that I got with my DVD give a totally different impression of the sessions - the Fabs are laughing and joking in most of them. So, I'd vote for a 2 disc set in which we have the film as it was originally released on the first, primary disc, and a second disc full of outtakes, commentaries, or maybe even a re-edited version of the film.

I really like the atmosphere of the rooftop concert; it's a wonderful release after the depressing atmosphere and performances that precede it.

The 500 hours or so of stuff that was discovered/recovered recently from those Dutch bootleggers were primarily sound tapes from the film, i.e. audio recorded on Nagras by the film crew. (See Steve Matteo's 'Let It Be', pp. 1-6 and 128-136).

There's just so little in movie form' date=' of the Beatles...especially "live!"

It would be nice, if Apple would do a DVD on ALL the "Live" stuff,

they did, including Shea Stadium, and others. Concerts in England,

and Europe, that we don't (easily) find or get to see. Even a mulit-

DVD set, if need be. It's always been amazing to me, that The Beatles,

had (by todays standards) so little coverage, that way. Tons of

"Still" images, for sure...but "film" especially of the "live" stuff, is

pretty sparce, considering who they were, and their amazing impact

on the world!

Yeah, and part of the reason that I'd like to see something like this would be to have complete performances of things, rather than something which - in, say, the Anthology - gets interrupted by commentaries.
