Dietrich
10, 000 bones, eh? And (for the sake of the just-for-fun question) I have to spend it on Epiphone instruments? I would like to find an ebony Elitist EB-3 short scale bass. Those are pretty scarce, but they used to have them on the Epi website, a couple of years ago. Check it out: http://namm.harmony-central.com/WNAMM03/Content/Epiphone/PR/Elitist-EB3-lg.jpg Also, I would look for an Epi EB-5 bass, in ebony. Why, here's one now! (I doubt I'll bother though, it's way out in San Fran, and I am saving for my cello.) http://sfbay.craigslist.org/pen/msg/776691959.html That would take me through about 1 and 1/2 of the 10 grand, at most. So what next? Hmm....
Svet
If I was gifted 10k and I could have any guitar of my own choice I would undoubtfully get a Gibson L5 in VS. I've been lusting for one for a long time but I've held off the GAS. That's not hard to do when you're talking L5 money.
Amino Moore
First I would pay the 50% gift tax and then buy as many Elitist guitars as I could till I ran out of money.
Digger
Gotta be prepared for any situation. I also know who I'll eat first in a nuclear holocaust. And some handy martha stewart recipes. It's a good thing. Good Idea! I'd go up to Chinatown, cause I like a bit of Asian (careful) Dig

thunderstruck507
I'd get a Gibson LP standard faded in cherry burst and a vintage marshall halfstack, oh and maybe a tele I already have the 2 best Epiphones :D
Suicidehummer
I'd buy a Gibson LP Ebony Classic and get it set up really niceand then use the rest of the money for a big marshall half stack!!!!!!!!! Hah, I'm 1/2 of the way there dude! :D/ Anyone who wouldn't add a Fender to their list is not being open-minded IMO. Let's see here, I'd get meeself: Angus Young SG Some kind of Relic Fender Strat '67 Gibby SG w/Vibrola Epi Elitist SG Gibby VOS SG (any year reissue) '65 Gibby SG w/Vibrola OR I'd pay Angus Young all $10,000 for his '67 SG. OR I'd pay Brian Johnson all $10,000 for his voice box. (He's amazing) Cheers!
TheX
Anyone who wouldn't add a Fender to their list is not being open-minded IMO. Cheers! I already have Fenders covered, including a Blackie Artist Series Strat, and Tele's...love them

Thanks for responding. Dig[/quote'] I wish it were my money...the real question is how to get it by the wife?? That's not in our little scenario#-o
Recycled Rocker
Well good question, probably the ones I have just got, SG G400, LP Black Beauty 3, LP Custom, Wiltshire bat wing, Flying V and my Strat oh and a tele just for the heck of it, and may be a G 400 Special OH a Alleycat, a dot. Then some serious accessories cases, AMPS BIG AMPS definatly a Marshall 1/2 or maybe even a full stack, then with the left over money build a studio to practise my Epi's in...... (if there is any money left over) Oh well almost there just need the amps and a real studio and I'm set. :D/ I have six of the guitars above just need to get the other four and the other toys..... Cheers RR
captmidnight
Hmmmm..any Epiphone? Like most others would get the Elitist line of a LP Standard, LP Gold Top, SG, Sheraton, Casino and would help out with the Wildkat I am getting today Then would come the amps..I want an Epi Blues Custom 30! I have a Galaxie 10 and love that little amp, so the Blues Custom 30 would fill what this amp won't do, and a VJ half stack. Then with what was left over get a good Epi acoustic. tonebender
I'd get an Elitist Casino or Lennon Casino, Sunburst, maybe a Byrdland - save the rest.
The_Sentry
Hmmm.... Changed my mind. One leftie Tony Iommi SG, One Leftie Sheraton 2 (with modified 490/498 Gibson pickups), new nuts for both....locking tuners for the Iommi...good cases for both.... For the rest of the money? Killer PA system......or a Pro Tools software station......either of those would go further towards advancing my music vs. giving in to excessive GAS.....
