RotcanX
I think you mean GHS Guitar Gloss. Confusing to have 2 commonly used acronyms be so close. D'oh! :) You are absolutely correct. Brainfreeze. Thanks for catching that.
CodeMonk
Marshall. Well' date=' can't decide if I should +1 this or not. I've had several Marshalls over the years. Some sound incredibly awesome. Some sound like crap. One of them was one of the early MOSFET ones (bought it in 1981 I think). Was a ***** getting a good tone out of it, but I did get there. I never really liked the clean sound out of them that much, but turn it past 8 and you get an awesome sound. BTW...STAY AWAY from the MG series if you go Marshall. Well, at least I didn't like them. These days I'm a Vox man (AD30VT, AD50VT, AC30CCH). I would go for a Vox AD30VT, or the 50. You can get an amazing amount of sounds out of those. Of course, IMO, the AC30 is like heaven on earth. But it costs a bit, $900, and that was just for the head (I built my own cabinets, a 1x12 and a 2x12). [i']And if you have any question about Vox amps, feel free to email me (click on my profile).[/i] The AD50VT has an extra jack where you can hook up an external cabinet. The AD30VT does not, but its an easy mod to add one. And if you do hook it up the an external cab, make sure the cab is an 8ohm cab As for another guitar, get an LP. And don't just pick one that you think looks cool. Try them all out. Also, if you have any pawn shops in your area, check them out. I bought my LP at a pawn shop for $300, case included. mrjones200x
Hey i just modified my vox ad-30-vt. Very easy to do. I added two jack plugs, one so i can plug my epi valve junior into the speaker on the vox as its bigger and ive also added a jack if i want the vox to act as a head. Just leave the two linked for normal use. The vox is a good amp and im happy with mine. For blues type sound you''ll wanna try the epi valve junior, its great but for versatility you cant go wrong with the vox. I would go for a Vox AD30VT' date=' or the 50. Roswell
I need to start working on getting cases and room for my guitars. At the moment they're all on stands as I don't have room for anything else. Probably not great for them.
byrds1965
BTW...STAY AWAY from the MG series if you go Marshall. Well' date=' at least I didn't like them. .[/quote'] I had a MG50DFX and brought it back.........yuck! Traynor the blue one YCV50 with the 2 EL84s does a good clean and a nice Marshall OD. Take a guitar and try a bunch of amps. You may like the MG series. Try Roland and Vox and the new Fender Super ChampXD. If it sounds good to you then you found your amp forget what we say.
