Elitist pickups

Hi,

Can any Elite/Elitist Casino owners tell me what the gap is between the top of their pickup covers(not screws) and the underside of the string (low E side only will do) when fretted at the last fret. Has anyone needed to use a shim on the bridge pickup. Mine is 3/32 neck pickup which is fine, but the bridge is 3/16 which is making the neck pickup way louder.

That would be a great solution!! One slight problem, the pickup is screwed directly to the top. P-90's are not like humbuckers or Strat pickups. They do have polepiece screws but they are only for adjusting string to string balance.

Anyone help me out here? Presumably there are lots of Elitist Casino owners out there, with a similar problem/workaround.

Ah, of course...these are dogears, not soapbars... ;)

Maybe you could screw the polepieces down on the neck pickup, and use a piece of foam/rubber/cardboard to lift the bridge PU.

Thanks for the replies. The spacer seems the only solution. I was just curious really to see if there were any other Elitist Casinos were like mine. It seems strange to me that such a quality guitar should have the bridge pickup set so low, especially as these guitars have a thorough check-up in the USA before going on sale. BTW my guitar is a first quality example, not a 2nd etc.

I'm not really concerned about using a spacer, but the one kindly posted by Wiz-ski looks a bit unsightly, so I think I will make my own from an 1/8 inch slither of maple to exactly match the footprint of the dog-ear cover. Just out of curiosity are the Korean/Chinese casinos pickups roughly the same height from the strings??
